Ashok Srivastava is a well known social activitist and a role model for
those who believe in selfless good work for the society. A person with a vision
of revolutionizing the definition of a social worker and spreading the concept of
" Individual social Responsibility", he has truly justified the words of Mahatma
Gandhi,
"You must be the change you want to see in the world." Ashok contested
the 2007 assembly elections as an independent candidate from Noida to prove this
belief of the great leader.
A science graduate from Delhi University and a post-graduate in Management from
Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi, Ashok served the corporate world for 10 years and
then moved to business and event management. At present, he is the managing director
of P-Fam Pvt Ltd, founder member of Goonj (a social event management company) and
is heading the CSR wing of Self Reincarnation World (a counseling firm). He is the
founder president of a social organization called’’ Navratan” and is actively involved
with more than 20 social orgnaisations besides being on panel of many reputed Ngo’s
and organizations working for social causes.
Soft-spoken, humble and highly learned, his personality reflects through his works
and activities. He has the special gift of Devi Saraswati, the goddess of learning
and knowledge He has also received the award of the “Voice of Noida”. He can sustain
the attention of the crowd for hours and this is his natural talent. Though a firm
believer of harmony, interpersonal love and affection, he believes:—
Flowers are crushed in this world,
Only the fittest survive
When someone usurps your right
With fire, not tears you should fight
Since he was 9 years old, he started participating in social activities and now
as he crosses 50, he has made a place in hearts of thousands by his selfless social
work / activities in Noida & Delhi NCR. His mere participation in any social event
has ensured the success of that program. Whether it is a cultural program, child
welfare issue, educational platform, upliftment of the underprivileged, a natural
calamity, a camp for flood victims, migration and displacement, blood donation,
fire, merit evaluation for children or poverty elimination program,
Ashok has always
been forthcoming and pioneer in such activities. Participating in social activities
has become the part and parcel of his routine life. Environmental protection, protecting
stray animals against atrocities, protection of human rights , right to education
are some of his prime areas of focus now.
Some of his major ongoing projects are in Delhi / NCR are:
Education
- Running two schools for underprivileged children in Noida villages.
- Support to Improve the quality of government and NGO’s primary schools.
- Establishing libraries in various places.
- Scholarship for underprivileged children.
- Weekly meetings for sensitization on social issues.
- Organising Career Counseling and personality development sessions for students.
Health
- Working with local authorities for Improving the quality of government hospitals.
- Camps for polio immunization, health check up and awareness programs.
- Health counseling for women in slums.
Welfare
- Active member of Society for Prevention of Cruelty on Animals.
- Working through Lions Club Noida (Member for 20 years in this international organization)
